New Experiences

The last two days have been filled with a lot of sanding and punching in finishing nails with a nail punch. In Jay’s new prototype house, the interior is almost ready for appliances and other finishes like the closets to be put in. Another thing we have been working on it making our own solar shower and composting toilet. This is a new adventure for both of us because we have never made one or have ever used either of them. The concept is simple. The solar shower sits out in the sun all day and when you want a shower you just take it into the little shed you made and then refill it with water for the next person. We are a little unsure how the composting toilet will work but we are up for trying new things.
On Tuesday, while working we were surprised with multiple unexpected guests. Turns out there was going to be a photo shoot with Jay and all the Tumbleweed workers. This was a shock because we knew nothing about it and were defiantly not ready for pictures. But we were able to clean up fairly quickly for the pictures. We were also able to meet almost all of Tumbleweed employees.
Steve – Jay’s business partner
Alicia – Graphic designer
Richard – Web designer
Zeke – Jay’s handyman
These are just a few people that we didn’t get a chance to meet. After pictures, Steve took us to his restaurant on the coast. The drive was amazing and cannot be put into words. The pictures don’t even attempt to show the beauty of the land. At the restaurant we were able to experience fresh seafood. Cassie was a little nervous because see does not like seafood. However, after eating at this great restaurant she might have converted into a seafood eater.
Yesterday we got our first project from Steve. We need to find a way to accelerate the Popomo exterior to have a rust appearance. This entails a lot of research and today we are going to attempt the process by possible using Muriatic acid. We will keep everyone updated on the progress.

Shelley and Cassie
