Friday was spent once again putting the tongue and groove in the new tiny home. This was more difficult because it was on the ceiling and required some difficult maneuvering. We still have to do it over the loft, but the two other features….. need to be added before we can finish that. Jay’s old tiny house, the Epu, is being picked up Tuesday, so we are hoping to have some of the big elements in the new one. There is an open house this next weekend and we are hoping for the house to be complete but are not making that our deadline.
On Thursday, we ended up oxidizing the corten on the Popomo. We did the process with vinegar instead of the toxic muriatic acid. We could tell a difference after about 20 minutes. We think we will have to repeat the process one more tome. Pictures will soon be up.
Today was our free day. We spent most of it with Jay and his son Emerson. It started out with breakfast at Howard’s Station CafĂ© in Occidental. This was defiantly a place we would go back again. After that we went to a bakery down the street which has recently been featured as one of the top bakeries in North California. We tried samples and ended up getting the white sourdough loaf. Next stop was Bodega bay, where we got to visit the coast again. However, it was very rainy so we were not able to walk around as much as we wanted. But we did see some surfers out on the water. Santa Rosa was our last stop, which is the big city closest to Sebastopol. There we ran errands and picked up some needed items. The night is ending with our first bottle of wine….
